Mundra, India

About This Project

4 x 20’ GP Containers
4 BreakBulk Pieces @ 55 tonnes each
Middlesbrough to Mundra, India

Arbour Shipping was contacted to quoted for and move a major new project in India. The cargo was a processing unit for extracting oil from the desert sands, an amazing machine.
After arranging a full site visit by one of our surveyors to inspect the cargo, Arbour Shipping provided a plan of action. On this basis the shipper requested Arbour Shipping to take the booking and arrange the shipment.
Ensuring one of our Project Surveyors was on site at all times, Arbour Shipping arranged for the crane hire, heavy weight trailers, escort vehicles and labour to load the cargo and transport to Felixstowe Port. This loading process took 4 days to complete and even included the purchase and supply of 4 x 20’ General Purpose Dry Van Containers (full CSC Plated).
Upon arrival at the port of Felixstowe another of Arbour Shipping’s surveyors was there to meet each vehicle. Utilising our wealth of experience and contacts with the shipping lines, Arbour Shipping successfully managed to load each of the breakbulk pieces directly onto a Container Vessel to Mundra. This may not sound particularly impressive until you understand that most shipping lines cannot offload units weighing more than 40 tonnes in Mundra. Arbour Shipping can, and do. Thanks to our contacts and relationships with carriers and port operators the vessel was positioned to the only berth in Mundra capable of offloading this weight.
The cargo was safely offloaded and delivered to the site in India for work to commence on time.
