28 x 40ft Flat Rack Containers

This was indeed a testing movement for Arbour Shipping. The most difficult part was not the actual physical size of the cargo, but the fact that the shipment was all under one Letter of Credit. The Letter of Credit did not allow for the cargo to be either part shipped or trans-shipped in any way which left everyone in a predicament. There are a limited number off carriers that you can use for this very specific type of shipment.
Luckily the client came to Arbour Shipping who have a great knowledge of the Australian market. Along with our excellent relationships within the shipping lines, Arbour Shipping managed to do the unthinkable and sourced all the equipment required. Arranging for the cargo to be stuffed at Felixstowe port and ensuring all the 52 containers were loaded on the same vessel on a DIRECT call to Melbourne. We also ensured that the Original Bills Of Lading were issued and with the client within 48 hours of departure!
This movement was extremely important to Arbour Shipping as it was part of the Victoria Desalination Project in Melbourne, Australia set up by Thiess Degremont.
Thiess Degremont is the design and construction contractor for the $3.5 billion Victorian Desalination Project, the biggest infrastructure project in the state’s history and one of the most exciting projects underway in Australia currently. The project is to construct 29 buildings that will turn seawater from the Bass Strait into fresh drinking water for the state of Victoria.

A proud moment for Arbour Shipping!
