It was a great privilege for Arbour Shipping Ltd to be contacted to move a large project for one of the UK’s leading Offshore companies.
The client explained their requirement and after many weeks of discussion and advice Arbour Shipping Ltd was awarded the contract to move this sensitive cargo from Great Yarmouth to meet the supply vessel in Port Fourchon, Louisiana, USA.
As the cargo was meeting a supply vessel that would be heading out in to the USA Gulf, the handling and management of this shipment was critical. Any delays or slip ups would see the supply vessel leave this urgently required cargo behind and the job it was being shipped for lost.
Arbour Shipping Ltd’s 1st step therefore was to physically inspect and survey the cargo prior to it being collected. This allowed us to double check the dimensions and weights with the client in attendance and to ensure there would be no issues or surprises later. With this out of the way it was then a question of collecting all the cargo on Flat Bed and Semi Low Loader trailers and transporting to Felixstowe port. This completed without incident the cargo was secured to 16 x 40’ FR Containers (OOG) and 4 x 40’ HC Containers at our facility just off Felixstowe quay.
One of our project specialists was in attendance every step of the way. At the collection point for the haulage. At Felixstowe terminal for the securing to the containers. At the quay for the loading on to vessel and at destination for the final discharge and delivery.
All in all a very demanding and hands on shipment, but the satisfaction of a job well done was more than worth it.
