A small insight into some of the well-known international documents used e.g. EUR1, Certification of Origin, ATR form and Letters of Credit

Eur1 Certificate

The EUR1 document has been set up between the EU and various none EU countries to offer a reduction of duty for goods originating in the participating countries. The EUR1 was introduced to attract trade between the relevant parties and is a proof of origin that allows the duty reduction.

The EUR1 must be stamped by the relevant customs office and must be accompanied with original signed commercial invoice. As part of our value added service we can arrange for these documents to be signed and stamped by local HM Customs on your behalf.

Certificate of Origin

The main purpose of this document is to establish in the importing country if the product is entitled to preferential duties. Certificates of origin may also be needed to prove that goods do not come from a country against which the importing country has trade restrictions. The certificate of origin must be certified and/or legalised by the relevant countries' Embassy and Chamber of Commerce. As a member of these institutes we can complete the document and have it stamped on your behalf. For further information please do not hesitate to contact us.

ATR Form

The main purpose of this document is to establish in the importing country if the product is entitled to preferential duties. Certificates of origin may also be needed to prove that goods do not come from a country against which the importing country has trade restrictions. The certificate of origin must be certified and/or legalised by the relevant countries' Embassy and Chamber of Commerce. As a member of these institutes we can complete the document and have it stamped on your behalf. For further information please do not hesitate to contact us.

Consular Documents and Letters Of Credit

As part of our total value added service we can offer the full range and guidance covering Letters Of Credit. With all international trade, the documentation process is as important if not more so than the goods themselves. We can help you understand and therefore produce correct and accurate documentation.

Alternatively, Arbour Shipping will happily prepare export documents on your behalf and offer advice and guidance on any Consular or L/C matters.
